Lightning Network Now Live on Stacked

We're thrilled to announce that the Lightning Network is now fully integrated into the Stacked platform. This is a major milestone in our mission to make Bitcoin the most practical money for everyday use.

What is the Lightning Network?

The Lightning Network is a "layer 2" payment protocol built on top of Bitcoin. It enables instant, low-cost transactions by creating payment channels between users. Think of it as the difference between settling every transaction through your bank versus running a tab at your local cafe.

How to verify my identity

Identity verification is required to buy, sell, and withdraw Bitcoin on Stacked. This process helps us comply with New Zealand's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and keeps our platform safe for all users.

What you'll need

Before starting the verification process, make sure you have:

  • A valid New Zealand driver's licence or passport
  • A smartphone or computer with a camera
  • Good lighting for taking photos

Step-by-step guide

1. Start verification

Log into your Stacked account and navigate to Settings → Identity Verification. Click "Start Verification" to begin.

2. Enter your details

Fill in your personal information exactly as it appears on your ID document. This includes your full legal name, date of birth, and address.

3. Upload your ID

Take a clear photo of the front of your ID document. Make sure all four corners are visible and the text is readable. If using a passport, photograph the main information page.

4. Take a selfie

Take a photo of yourself holding your ID next to your face. This helps us confirm that you're the person on the document.

5. Wait for approval

Our team reviews verification requests within 24 hours during business days. You'll receive an email once your verification is complete.
